Bumpdate: Weeks 31-32

If you missed my previous bumpdates, you can check out weeks 5-12 hereweeks 13-14 hereweeks 15-16 hereweeks 17-18 hereweeks 19-20 hereweeks 21-22 hereweeks 23-24 hereweeks 25-26 here, weeks 27-28 here, and weeks 29-30 here! I've decided that at the very end of this, I'm going to make a book out of all of my weeks so Baby Cookie can look back and read through them someday. I also hope to make one giant blog post compiling all of my weeks together to see the progress.

How far along? 32 weeks

Size of baby?
31 weeks: coconut
32 weeks: jicama

Total weight gain? I'm still at a total of three pounds, but Baby Cookie more than likely weighs more than that now. I'm actually finding out this morning at my ultrasound!

Gender? GIRL! You can read about it here

Maternity clothes? Full time. I do still have baggy t-shirts and a huge pair of gym shorts that I wear, but otherwise, it's all maternity clothes.

Sleep? I slept pretty well while Dan was out of town because I was able to sprawl out over the whole king size bed! Woo! I actually slept through the night for the first time in MONTHS... and when I say through the night, I mean five hours without waking... because let's face it - that's a LONG time these days.

Work outs? I try to walk, but it's pretty tough to go for very long... or very fast. I'm constantly telling Dan to slow down. I have always been a faster walker than him, so this is completely new. And you should have seen me on our trip to Colorado... that altitude KILLED me. It's crazy to think I lived there for four years just fine...

Cravings? Mexican / spicy foods! I have had my fair share of burritos lately, and I found an actual authentic hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint about 15 minutes from my house... and it's far better than Chipotle, Qdoba, Hot Head, etc. I'll be visiting them frequently, I'm sure.

Aversions? Still tomatoes... except I'm eating more salsa than I'd like (see above...), which causes heartburn. But I want that spicy food so bad that I just kind of suck it up. I refuse to take any meds for heartburn because I am already on so many for allergies and asthma... I just can't bear to take any more.

Best moment of this week? We went to Colorado Springs to watch a couple friends get married at the USAFA chapel, and that was a blast! I loved eating at all of my old favorite restaurants and strolling through Garden of the Gods - and we even bought Baby Cookie her very first flight suit and took a picture in front of her future school! ;-)

Worst moment of this week? I had some mystery pains last week right before Dan was set to leave town... we thought I could have been going into premature labor, so we went in to get me checked out. That was no fun, but at least we now know that Baby Cookie is safe and sound for a while longer in there!

Looking forward to? Some Ohio friends are having a small baby shower / get together for us this weekend. It'll be fun to see all of our friends at the same time!

A Q&A With My Snarky Husband

I've seen a lot of bloggers posting random interviews with their husbands lately, and I thought it sounded like a fun idea! I typed out a list of 20 questions to ask Lieutenant Lovemuffin, and he (semi-happily) obliged. I think he likes being talked about on this little blog, so I shouldn't be surprised. He was feeling a bit snarky when answering some of these, though, so there's your fair warning.

1.    What is the name of my blog?
a.   www.comeflywithusblog.com … I purchased the domain name…
(That's true. He controls the technical aspect of this space!)

2.   What do I typically write about?
a.   Stuff we do together and what life is like as an Air Force wife (grueling, I hear…)

3.   What is the best store for women to shop?
a.   Any auto parts store, that way they won’t spend too much money.

4.   Do you know what Pinterest is?
a.   I know it gets me great dinners and also some interesting “cobblers”!
(haha... more on that 'cobbler' in another post... maybe)

5.   What do I keep in my purse?
a.   It’s more of a question of where you keep your purse – apparently it’s my job to always know the answer to that question.

6.   What is my biggest fear?
a.   Fish, tied with flying, so I suppose that’d be a flying fish (sturgeon?)

7.   What jewelry was I wearing on our wedding day?
a.   You had the lockets of your dad on your shoes, the necklace I gave you, your engagement ring, and that thingy in your hair.
(Wow... he's pretty good! I'll let the lack of wedding band slide since I didn't specify if I meant before or after we said our vows)

8.   What did we do for our second (dating) anniversary?
a.   It was valentines day at the Prep School so we went to a Miramont Castle and had a nice dinner.
(Nope. We did that for our first anniversary. He took me on a winter wonderland train ride for our second anniversary, which was amaaazing!)

9.   Which one of us has a better memory?
a.   You do (when not pregnant)

10. Who is the messiest in our house?
a.   Gilligan (she was expecting one of us, but this cat seems to puke wherever he pleases, and if he isn’t happy, he pees on whatever he wants…)

11. If I could meet any famous person, living or dead, who would I want to meet and why?
a.   I feel like you’ve told me this before - probably an author/writer – Jodi Picoult (de gallo)
(Yes, he calls her Jodi Pico de Gallo...)

12.How much do I spend on make-up products?
a.   Not very much – you don’t need much because you’re so beautiful!

13.What is my favorite TV show?
a.   I Love Lucy; that’s easy

14.What about my favorite movie?
a.   Remember the Titans

15.Who is the spender, and who is the saver?
a.   I think we’re both spenders and savers (after I taught you to save via Groupon and other coupons/discounts)

16.Who takes longer to get ready in the mornings?
a.   Depends, are you counting the time it takes me to get out of bed? If so, then me.

17.What is an acceptable amount of money to spend on a dress?
a.   It depends on the type of dress, I don’t wanna be boxed into a corner on this one! I would say no more than $100 with the exception of wedding dresses.

18.What is your favorite part of being married to me?
a.   We always manage to have fun wherever we go!
(I love this answer!)

19. What about the worst part?
a.   Well, I didn’t really see all the hospital visits coming so soon when I said in sickness and in health.
(Sorry, babe... the kidney stones suck, trust me)

20. What was your first thought when you found out you were having a daughter?
a. Cool, I get to teach a girl how to do all these manly things.

Some of his answers made me chuckle!

Have you ever interviewed your significant other? It's fun!

Bumpdate: Weeks 29-30

If you missed my previous bumpdates, you can check out weeks 5-12 hereweeks 13-14 hereweeks 15-16 hereweeks 17-18 hereweeks 19-20 hereweeks 21-22 hereweeks 23-24 hereweeks 25-26 here, and weeks 27-28 here! I've decided that at the very end of this, I'm going to make a book out of all of my weeks so Baby Cookie can look back and read through them someday. I also hope to make one giant blog post compiling all of my weeks together to see the progress.
How far along? 30 weeks

Size of baby?
29 weeks: butternut squash
30 weeks: cabbage

Total weight gain? I've gained three pounds! This is progress! Seeing as that's what Baby Cookie weighs now... I'm just glad I've gained as much as she weighs. It was strange for a while there. Bad food on our road trip may have contributed to this...

Gender? GIRL! You can read about it here

Maternity clothes? Oh yes. All the time. I did paint (furniture for the nursery!) in some XL Air Force shirts, though, and those fit fine (funny but covered everything).

Sleep? I have to go to the bathroom way too much these days for consistent sleep. And when I wake up, my fingers are numb, my feet ache, and my hips are in stabbing pain... so it takes a while to fall back asleep due to that.

Work outs? Walking here and there... but mostly just daily life is my workout these days.

Cravings? Fruit again. I can't get enough fruit. I'm especially loving peaches and pears right now.

Aversions? Nothing specific, but heartburn is worse than it has been all along, but I'm trying to avoid my trigger foods.

Best moment of this week? We enjoyed seeing so many friends and family members at our baby shower!!! We got so many amazing items... this little girl is spoiled already! I will write a post about her shower soon.

Worst moment of this week? Breathing has become difficult. I swear Baby Cookie moved completely because I feel her kicks in a different place now... and while I'm glad she moved (because I'm fairly confident she went from laying sideways inside me to head down), her feet are now jabbing into my lungs, making my breathing labored. I know it's not my asthma because my rescue meds don't help anymore. It should be a fun 9.5 or so more weeks!

Looking forward to? Our next ultrasound! I love seeing Baby Cookie any chance I get... we'll go back in two weeks to see her again.

Bad Blogger... Broken MacBook

Sorry for the lack of posts last week - oops! I am such a terrible blogger.

We had just gotten back in town, and I was trying to play catch-up on EVERYTHING - meal planning, housekeeping, Etsy shops (yes, I said shops... I'll be debuting #2 soon!), and my social life... not to mention, our very first childbirth class! Eek!

Regardless, I'm sorry. I meant to be on my A-Game, and I just wasn't. Anyway, as karma would have it, my MacBook Pro bit the dust on Thursday afternoon.

I was just reading a recipe from Pinterest for the 4th of July, and my screen went black. I could still hear that my computer was on, so I manually shut the power off.

I tried rebooting it, but it just wouldn't load. I got on Dan's MacBook and tried searching for how to fix it... to no avail. I figured he would be able to fix it when he got home, so I waited it out... and then when he spent FOUR HOURS trying to fix it with no luck, we knew it was bad.

I took it to the Apple Store on Friday, and the bad news is that my graphics/video card (something like that) is out... but the good news is that it's a common problem with my year of MacBook, so despite it being out of warranty, they are fixing it COMPLETELY FOR FREE! After our luck with things breaking lately (cars... ugh), this was a very welcome surprise.

Unfortunately, they have to send it in to fix it... but they said I should get it back Thursday or Friday of this week! I am hopeful.. and until then, since I can't work in my shops, I will be going crazy getting Baby Cookie's nursery more set up... or as much as I can.

Have you ever had your computer just stop working?
Have you also had excellent customer care from Apple?

Bumpdates: Week 27-28

If you missed my previous bumpdates, you can check out weeks 5-12 hereweeks 13-14 hereweeks 15-16 hereweeks 17-18 hereweeks 19-20 hereweeks 21-22 hereweeks 23-24 here, and weeks 25-26 here! I've decided that at the very end of this, I'm going to make a book out of all of my weeks so Baby Cookie can look back and read through them someday. I also hope to make one giant blog post compiling all of my weeks together to see the progress.
How far along? 28 weeks

Size of baby?
27 weeks: cauliflower
28 weeks: eggplant

Total weight gain? One pound! Finally! Let's see if it stays there... I feel like it should now that Baby Cookie weighs over two pounds...

Gender? GIRL! You can read about it here

Maternity clothes? Yes - always! I ave a few of Dan's shirts that still fit me for sleeping, thank goodness, because I cannot stand tight fitting clothes when I'm in bed. Air Force PT shirts - Whatever works, right?

Sleep? Dan was out of town for a couple nights at Boy Scout Camp last week, and I slept SO WELL then... I think it's because I had the entire king size bed to myself. I'm still having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep most nights, but I've been able to nap a little bit, which is helpful.

Work outs? At this point, I consider walking from one room to another or trying to blow dry my hair a workout. Painting my toenails leaves me completely out of breath.

Cravings? Nothing new here this time around!

Aversions? All the same. Heartburn is crazy when I eat tomatoes, but I did have spaghetti AND pizza over the weekend, and I didn't die.

Best moment of this week? We're heading to Missouri to see family and friends and have a baby shower for our little girl! We're actually already there...

Worst moment of this week? I went to the ER once again (well, I really go to Labor and Delivery every time now since I'm past 24 weeks) for fluids and kidney pain. They sent me home with a diagnosis of another kidney stone, so I took Flomax and Vicodin for a couple days... I slept well then.

Looking forward to? Our baby shower this weekend! :)
