Bumpdate: Weeks 17-18

If you missed my previous bumpdates, you can check out weeks 5-12 hereweeks 13-14 here, and weeks 15-16 here! I've decided that at the very end of this, I'm going to make a book out of all of my weeks so Baby Cookie can look back and read through them someday. I also hope to make one giant blog post compiling all of my weeks together to see the progress.

I'm almost caught up - yay! I am now 19 weeks, but this is weeks 17 and 18... so not too far off. Exciting!

How far along? 19 weeks now, but these photos are from weeks 17-18!

Size of baby?
17 weeks: turnip
18 weeks: sweet potato

Total weight gain? After being super sick and in the hospital last week, I am actually down again. I am four pounds lighter than pre-pregnancy, which is worrying my husband... but I plan on brining it up at my appointment next Monday.

Gender? GIRL! We found out last week, and you can read about it here

Maternity clothes? Definitely wearing maternity jeans and tops full time now... and I ordered some more that were on sale at JC Penney, and they should be here soon so I have more variety and am not wearing the same six shirts on repeat. I also found some jean shorts at Target that I need to go pick up soon because it'll be summer weather here before I know it!

Sleep? I've been having nightmares (unrelated to the baby), which has been interesting. They feel so real when I wake up, so I have to calm down for an hour or so before falling back asleep. It's getting annoying, and I miss that sleep.

Work outs? I haven't been doing too much. I need to start walking Smudge regularly now that it's nicer outside. I have no excuses other than the kidney stones last week.

Cravings? I'm not really craving anything lately.

Aversions? There are lots of things I just can't bring myself to eat lately... I always feel sick when trying to eat. It's nothing specific... but when I sit down for dinner, Dan has to force me to eat half of what's on my plate because it just looks and smells awful, and I want nothing to do with it. Almost every night. Luckily, I'm still keeping water down, so that's good at least, right?

Best moment of this week? Finding out that Baby Cookie is a girl!

Worst moment of this week? I spend some time in the hospital last week... I visited TWO emergency rooms before being admitted for three days for another dang kidney stone. So painful, and my arms still look like I'm a drug addict from the bruises all over from the nurses and techs who just could not figure out how to start IVs and draw blood and kept sticking me. Thanks, guys.

Looking forward to? We are looking forward to shopping more now that we know we're having a little girl!

Did you go crazy shopping for your baby after you found out his/her gender?

  1. My sister in law lost her mind shopping after she found out the baby was a girl. (she's now 4 months old). We had to tell her to cool it a little so there were things left for us to buy her for her showers haha.

  6. EEk! I'm so excited for you! I didn't buy too much once we found out he was a boy. I knew my family would go crazy so I held off. The only things we really bought were items we saw on mega sale or things for his nursery. Having a very specific theme, we didn't want others buying for his nursery. Speaking of, have you picked out a theme for her nursery?!
