The real point of this post is not about word choice, though, but rather it is about military uniforms. Maybe I am just missing Dan an extra lot right now, but hey, spring break is JUST around the corner! We have to make it through only four more days of school / work before an entire glorious NINE DAYS together! Did I just digress again? Oops.
So, for those of you who are dating a man in the military (and even those who are not, I suppose), which is your favorite uniform? Dan is in the Air Force, and I like him in all three uniforms that I've seen him in with any regularity, but my favorite uniform? ABUs, hands down. I LOVE seeing him in that camouflage! However, his flight suit is a close second, which I suppose is good because that's what I better get used to seeing him in. Service dress is nice and all, but it's not my favorite. I have yet to see him in Mess Dress (but I will in May for USAFA's Ring Dance!), and I didn't include PC Gear in this. I also like Dan in his civilian clothing, but hey, there's just something sexy/handsome about a man in uniform!
ABUs (Air Battle Uniform) -- my #1
Flight Suit -- luckily my #2
Service Dress -- nice, but only my #3
Civilian Clothing -- always nice, but it's nothing special!
So, what order do you like the uniforms?
I am with you, Janelle! Camo (ACU's for us Army peeps)hands down! Lots of military wives say they see it so much that it isn't as special. I NEVER get tired of seeing my GI Joe sporting his camies. There is something so manly about them...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! I can't even explain why I like them so much, but they're definitely my favorite! :)
DeleteMy favorite has to be my hubby's old Class A's, which are phased out now, and his jump boots. In my opinion, having an entirely green dress uniform is a throw back to the early Army years. That being said, nothing is sexier than plain ole dog tags ;o)
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about older military stuff! I'll have to look that up :) I've only been around the military for four years... before that, I had no experience whatsoever with any branch! LOL about the dog tags! :)
DeleteHello! Showing some love back! I can not wait to dive into reading your BLOG! I try for rainy days and weekends haha! :) I just started following you!
ReplyDelete-Monica @ In The Pursuit Of Happy-Ness!
Thanks! I also read blogs on the weekends normally! :)
DeleteI was a biology teacher! My favorite Army uniform is ACUs... No fuss! As for flight suits...I'm an Airforce brat and we used to call them green garbage bags...so that connotation stick in my head.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's great! What grade(s) did you teach? That is pretty hilarious about the flight suits -- I'll have to call it that the next time my fiancé wears his and see what his reaction is! ;)
DeleteI love all my husband's uniforms but I think my favorite is his Navy dress blues. He rarely gets dressed up so it's always a treat for me. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAw, that's nice then! I agree that it's so special seeing them dressed up! :)
DeleteLove this! I love all my husband's uniforms but his ACUs I think I like the best.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad some people agree! :)
Deletehi Janellle, got your comment and now I'm your newest follower :)
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you! :) I'm so excited to have met some military spouses! :)
DeleteHi! Thank you for coming by my blog. I'm glad you found me. I'm your newest follower too!
ReplyDeleteAs for my favorite uniform, it would have to be my husband in his Dress Blues. He's army. The ACUs kind of look like Pajamas to me, so the nice blue suit wins.
I could see how they would look like PJs! Thanks for the follow! :)
DeleteHello Janelle. Thank you for stopping by my blog and being my newest follower. I left a comment for you on my blog :) I am now following your blog too :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the cammo's too. The first one. My husband, who is in the Navy, has blue cammo's and they are by far my favorite :)
http://reflectionsofanavywife.blogspot.com/
Thanks for following my blog! I have seen the blue cammos before... they are certainly unique! It's cool how all of the branches have different uniforms :)
DeleteHi Janelle it is lovely to meet you! Thank you for stopping by A Pocket Full Of Buttons. I love my hubby in his cammies but the Marine Corp dress blues are sharp!
ReplyDeleteTrue! Dress Blues are always sharp! :)
DeleteHey, thanks for the follow! I love my hubby in all his uniforms too! Gotta love a man in uniform right? I think I like the cami's best too. Though, I seriously can't figure out why the navy wears blue cami's... so they'll blend in... if they fall in the water??... :/ yeah...
ReplyDeleteHahaha! That made me laugh. I have wondered why they are blue also, but they do look pretty cool!
DeleteHi Janelle, thanks for following Standing By Him! I absolutely melt when my husband puts on his Marine Corps dress blues. He's desert cammies are a close second, and his Bravos are my number three :)
ReplyDeleteDress Blues seem to be a popular choice! :)
DeleteThanks for following! I see that you're in my neck of the woods too :) It's a great place for running community huh?
ReplyDeleteOh, it definitely is! There are so many places to run out here, and I've been thinking about joining one of the running clubs. :)
DeleteMy favorites were the Green dress uniforms, before the Army chose to go Blue with them. The dress greens were nice, and no other branch had them.
ReplyDeleteNext, it was the uniform he went to Afghanistan in. :):) *eyes wide* It was good stuff, let me tell you!
Then. The regular ACUs, what can I say, I just l like my hubs in Uni! haha
And then the dress blues. They're meh But it's still a uniform! lol
I haven't seen the green ones. That would be nice because they would be unique. Uniforms are just nice in general, I think! :)
DeleteI am with you, my #1 would be ACU's :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree! :)
DeleteI love the dress blues:)
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty nice, huh?! :)
DeleteI've always been a dress blues girl, although I really like them all. I think the Marine Corps did a great job with the uniforms! Found your blog on a comment from Sarah's "Charting New Territory" blog : )
ReplyDeleteI definitely think men look great in uniform no matter what! :) Thanks for checking out my blog... I'm going to see yours now! :)
DeleteYou stoped by my blog so I thought I would return the favor!! The uniforms are called different things in the army. My favorite is seeing my soldier in his Class A's, which woul be in comparision to the Service dress. I am not a fan of ACU's (Armys comparision to the ABU's) only because I liked the BDU's from years ago and wish they would not have changed them!!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note love the blog and will have to be your newest subscriber!!
Well, thanks for coming to check out my blog! :) Seeing the guys all dressed up sure is nice! :)
DeleteI'm going to have to go with you on the ABU's as the best AF uniform. Thanks for stopping by my blog......the one I hardly ever have time to write in anymore. All the best to you as you begin your adventure as an Air Force wife. It can be crazy. We have lived in 5 states and 3 different countries in the past 14 years! I love it & I love my Air Force family!
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree! :) Thank you so much for checking out my blog and for the words of encouragement. It seems like a crazy life to take on, but I can't picture it any other way! I'm ready for a big adventure! :)
DeleteI love this! I'm going to have to do a post on this sometime. I think I agree with you, ABU's are the best!
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree! :D
